The writing of a poem is like a child
throwing stones into a mineshaft.
You compose first,
then you listen for the reverberation.

I went to a funeral today.
A woman of regal stature,
and strong opinions which were always right,
The service was perfect,
one of the best I have ever attended,
Irma had arranged the whole thing,
from who played the organ and sang,
to what scripture and hymns were read,
and who read them.
The following words are from the hymn "Now the silence"
They are the perfect words for a funeral.
Now the silence, now the peace,
Now the empty hands uplifted;
Now the kneeling, now the plea,
Now the Father’s arms in welcome;
Now the hearing, now the power,
Now the vessel brimmed for pouring;
Now the body, now the blood,
Now the joyful celebration;
Now the wedding, now the songs,
Now the heart forgiven, leaping;
Now the Spirit’s visitation,
Now the Son’s epiphany;
Now the Father’s blessing,
Now, now, now.

In an article titled "How do you fight communism?"
Ronald Reagan wrote;
Reagan's war by Peter Schweizer
Ronald Reagan wrote;
"The real fight with this new totalitarianism belongs properly toThe secret to fighting them and winning, said Reagan, was to take the offensive and expose them for who they are. But it was critical to fight the battle within the parameters of democratic principles.
the forces of
democracy, just as did the battle with Hitler's
totalitarianism. There really is
no difference except the cast of
characters. On the one hand is our belief that
the people can and will
decide what is best for themselves, and on the other
(communist,nazi, or
fascist) side is the belief that a 'few' can best decide
what is good for
all the rest."
Reagan's war by Peter Schweizer
So, in the interest of fighting this war against belief systems that want the select few to make the decisions and run the world, here is a list so we know who is on which side.
Democracy; Jefferson, America, Reagan, conservatism.
the other side; Nazism, communism, Islamo fascists, Liberalism, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Jimmy Carter, Socialist Europe.

Ah me! for aught that I could ever read,
Could ever hear by tale or history,
The course of true love never did run smooth:
But either it was different in blood,--
Or else misgraffed in respect of years;--
Or else it stood upon the choice of friends:
Or, if there were a sympathy in choice,
War, death, or sickness, did lay siege to it,
Making it momentary as a sound,
Swift as a shadow, short as any dream;
Brief as the lightning in the collied night
That, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and earth,
And ere a man hath power to say, Behold!
The jaws of darkness do devour it up:
So quick bright things come to confusion.
From a Midsummer nights dream

Study Finds Low-Fat Diet Won't Stop Cancer or Heart Disease
The largest study ever to ask whether a low-fat diet reduces the risk of getting cancer or heart disease has found that the diet has no effect.
The $415 million federal study involved nearly 49,000 women ages 50 to 79 who were followed for eight years. In the end, those assigned to a low-fat diet had the same rates of breast cancer, colon cancer, heart attacks and strokes as those who ate whatever they pleased, researchers are reporting today.
